An art glass vase by Ohio artist Robert Eickholt from the Seascape series. The asymmetrical vase features abstract nautilus shapes at the shoulder and vertical stripes around the body in blues and greens. It is signed and dated 2008 to the underside.
Robert Eickholt is a noted glass artist who studied glass blowing in Berkley, California and later completed graduate studies in his craft at Ohio State University and the Columbus College of Art and Design. He founded Eickholt Glass Studio in Columbus, Ohio in 1978 and was known for incorporating precious metals and oxides into his various creations including vases, perfume bottles, paperweights and sculptures. His work has been sold at a variety of galleries as well as featured at the Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, New York and the Massillon Museum in Massillon, Ohio. He retired in 2013.
