Robert Herrmann studied both art and architecture at the University of Cincinnati, University of Wisconsin, Ohio State University, University of Iowa, and Columbia University. He is known for his precise, clean style featuring architectural elements and structures, a style that merges precisionist and abstract aesthetics. Though he was professionally trained, he chose to never exhibit his work publicly, and so his work was first exhibited posthumously, at the Cincinnati Art Galleries.
