Born in Connecticut, artist Tom Nicholas studied with Ernest Lehrmann before earning a scholarship to the School of Visual Arts in New York, where he studied from 1953 to 1956. He is a member of several artist associations such as the Salmagundi Club, the American Watercolor Society, the Allied Artists of America, the Knickerbocker Artists, and the Rockport Art Association, to name a few. Nicholas’ work has been collected by multiple institutions including the Butler Institute of American Art, the Springfield Art Museum, and Adelphi University, among others.
