Late Federal Figured Cherry Chest of Drawers, circa 1830

Item Details

The paneled case features a rectangular top above a stack of four dovetailed and graduated, long drawers. The cockbeaded fronts are further embellished with old, patterned glass knobs. The chest rises on turned legs ending in casters, with the front examples flanking a bowed skirt.

Condition

- overall with various scratches, marks, nicks/small chips, light cracks, and abrasions consistent with age and use; scattered finish wear and residue; applied molding along edges of top is possibly later; glass knobs are old but probably associated; missing escutcheons; no key; other possible imperfections, wear, and repairs/restorations.
