An autographed copy of ‘Instant Reply’ (hardcover, Holtzman Press, Inc., 1968). Part of the ‘Sports Classic’ series, it was reissued by Jerome Holtzman. Co-author Jerry Kramer autographed this book on the end paper (first page) of the book in blue ink (the other co-author, Dick Schaap, has not). Jerry was an offensive lineman for the Green Bay Packers from 1958-68. This book details his life as a player, always looking for Vince Lombardi’s approval. The title came about when Jerry made a crucial block for quarterback Bart Starr, allowing Starr to score the winning touchdown in a National Championship game against the Dallas Cowboys. Kramer became a star because instant replay revealed to the world it was his block that led to victory.
