A vintage lacrosse stick stamped ’ Made in Canada’ with leather webbing. 9’ wide at head. This is an “attack stick” used by the offense. It is lighter and more agile than the heavier “defence stick”. Note that the defence stick is shown here separately as item 225. This is a classic “curved wood” form of a vintage Lacrosse stick, which have been handcrafted exclusively by native American Indians for centuries. The history of lacrosse dates back centuries, but was first documented around 1636 when a Jesuit Missionary first observed Iroquois Indians playing lacrosse. It was a tribal sport dominated by all males. It was not just a recreational sport for them, but played a serious role across Native American cultures and tribes for centuries. A great decorative item.
