Rude Osolnik was born in Dawson, New Mexico and is known for his contemporary, sleek, mid century modern woodwork; his signature candlesticks are the epitome of his oeuvre. He studied at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois where he obtained both his undergraduate degree and MFA. While creating a prolific amount of work, Osolnik also ran the Industrial Arts Department at Berea College in Kentucky. He has received numerous awards including the National Award for Contemporary Design from the International Wood Manufacturers. Osonik’s work can still be found in the Arizona State University Art Museum, Tempe; Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, Gatlinburg, TN; Fine Arts Museum of the South, Mobile, AL; High Museum of Art, Atlanta; Huntsville Museum of Art, Huntsville, AL; J. B.
