Large MacNeale and Urban Two Door Safe

Large late 19th century MacNeale and Urban two door safe on large casters with painted decoration to exterior. Door is painted with the following text ‘Macneale & Urban Cin’ti Patent.’ The combination to the safe is available and will be provided to the winning bidder. Nice embossed rope detail to the front of the safe and paneled sides. The first safe factory to establish itself in Hamilton was MacNeale and Urban Company. MacNeale and Urban began operation around 1855 in Cincinnati as Urban, Dodds, and Company. The company ceased production around 1903. The safe is located in the garage which is accessible from the driveway with a small lip up from the garage to the driveway.

Loss to painted decoration. Missing 4 of the nickel plated hinge finials.
