Dan Bodelson is known for his paintings of Western landscapes, Native American and cowboy scenes, and still lifes rendered with intricate realism. He grew up in Colorado and New Mexico and received his BFA at the California College of the Arts in San Fransciso. Early in his career, he worked as an illustrator in San Francisco, then moved to Santa Fe where he focused on painting scenes and subject matters of the American West. Bodelson’s work can be found in private and corporate collection including those of Steven Spielberg, former governors Bruce King of New Mexico and Frank Keating of Oklahoma, and a handful of actors. In addition, his work has been exhibited by numerous institutions such as the Albuquerque Museum, the Santa Fe Fine Arts Museum, the Eiteljorg Museum in Indianapolis, the Autry Museum in Los Angeles, and the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, among others.

- slight bowing of canvas panel; slight marks to the lower left including red pigment; spots and nicks to linen liner; loss of gilt to the lower right of sight edge of frame; scratches to plaque; nicks and abrasions to the frame.
