Inscription by the artist reads “Cows are good animals, they provide us with milk and give us meat to eat. God put cows here for people. I have met lots of vegetarians and soon or later they got to have a burger. This painting here is giving cows a break. Kind a like a animal heaven. Thank god for all of his wonderful creatures. God bless you in all you do.”

Grandson of the legendary folk artist, Howard Finster, Michael was born in Georgia in 1969 and dropped out of high school to help paint with his grandfather. Michael would help paint and cut plywood for Howard. His work features similar imagery of religious and natural subject matters, but also often includes fantastical depictions of aliens, dinosaurs and mythical creatures. Like Howard, he numbers his works and has completed over 4,000 pieces.
