A General Winfield Scott autograph cut with military portrait print. The autograph cut was done in ink and has received a ‘visual pass’ from a third party authenticator. The signature dates to the mid-1800s and is contained on paper that exhibits fading through the years. With the Inscription ‘I remain very truly yours’ before his signature, this display presents Winfield Scott in his military attire. Born in 1778, Winfield Scott attended the College of William and Mary and was one of America’s most proficient officers serving from the War of 1812 to the Civil War. Winfield Scott’s contributions to the military resulted in a permanent army, adhering to its professional standards. Winfield Scott passed away in 1866 and is buried at West Point. This historic American militia autograph display is framed in wood underneath protective plexiglass.
