Additional Information Volume I is the first issue of the second edition without “Volume I” printed on the title page; Volume II is the first edition of the supplementary work; Charles Johnson is believed to be a pseudonym and is often attributed to Daniel Defoe (circa 1660-1731)

Condition

- fine contemporary binding, nicely rebacked, minor scuffing to edges with bumped corners; some minor toning and foxing to pages, but generally clean and bright especially in Volume II. Engraving of Captain Barth. Roberts is tipped in at p. 208, rather than p. 259 indicated in plate.
