Boles Collection: Message From The Consignor

“This collection is from my beautiful home in Tuxedo Park, New York. It’s a wonderful feeling to know that somebody will discover and treasure these lovely things, wherever they find their new home. Upon inherent and careful consideration, I have made the very difficult decision to part ways with a large portion of the contents from my home. They were well-loved and many pieces followed my partner and I through six various homes. Due to a life-changing moment I’ve decided it’s time for a different look. The excitement of the hunt for new pieces awaits me. It’s so important to refresh the eye from time to time.
Collecting beautiful objects from around the world has been a great passion of mine. As an interior designer, I’m always unearthing unusual finds, whether in the Souks of Morocco or Les Puces in Paris or the fabulous and eccentric Peterborough Festival of Antiques- Cambridgeshire where the porcelain and silver are rare and exceptional.
I believe a room is never finished. Mixing elements of modernism with the beauty and richness of neoclassicism is what makes a room. Something Devine always finds its way into my suitcase during my travels. The fantasy and opulence together weave a subtle balance, inspiring a sense of calm “a fantastically designed room that provokes reality”. I’m at ease with different centuries and cultures, a hugely important gift in the era of global eclecticism.
In this auction, you will discover a unique mix of disparate objects: the pair of eighteenth-century French Armchairs in a wonderful deep-green patina, an intricately designed marble Florentine center table, or the stately gilded Lectern. You will discover a Roman marble bust I unearthed near the Castillo in Venice, Italy. The most fantastic set of whimsical china from my home in Morocco is also included, not to be outdone by the selected pieces of silver you will find and treasure. You will be delighted to find a romantic pair of carved mirrors I found hiding behind a dusty old rug in Mercado de Santa Clara flea market in Lisbon and, a rare and unique, tiny golden enameled Byzantine Icon found in the Central Market in Athens.”

Cheers and Happy Hunting,
Brad
