An original painting of a woman at a window by artist Frank Whipple (American, 20th century artist). Whipple is a self taught California artist, known for his presentation of a humorous microcosm. This painting on board depicts a nude woman at a window watching a bird. The artist’s signature is at the lower right. Whipple is known for nun art, where he was originally drawn to the French Daughters of Charity with their fanciful head wimples as an Army journalist during the war. This art is presented in a decorative gold tone wood frame, with brown velour border and gold tone interior edge.
